**UPDATED**
Early last week I was given some disturbing news, Quantum Web Solutions/Quantum Network & Promotions has sacked all of it’s development staff, sales staff and design staff and is officially shutting down web development operations.
Instead it will be concentrating on hosting the clients that are already hosted with Quantum Web, which means anyone with Quantum Hosting is fine for the time being. However for how long and will they suddenly just decide it’s non profitable and shut down hosting one day without warning? Who knows!
For those that are still with Quantum Hosting, there are some things to really consider:
- What will happen if your site needs bug fixing?
- What will you do if you suddenly decide you need some new features?
- what if you go through some re-branding and want to change the look n’ feel of your website!?!
Basically what on earth will you do now ALL support is gone? I cant see anyone being happy having a website that is now locked into one developed state. No online business I know is happy with a site to confidently say “we do not require any more work/features ever again”.

Quantum Hosting Email!
Quantum has finally started to contact customers, providing an explanation for why they have not been contactable recently, apparently they (Quantum Hosting) "shared an office" with Quantum Network & Promotions and that now it has stopped trading the phone lines were lost, however they are owned by the same people so I dont bye this... - anyway, please have a read of the email - there is a contact email address finally and you can all now contact them! :)
This email is to let you all know that your websites are very safe and secure. You may have heard or been contacted by a third party telling you that Quantum Hosting and Support is no longer trading.
This is simply not true, Hosting & Support continues to trade as a strong Vibrant company.
Quantum Network and Promotions is no longer trading, this is mainly due to a sustained attack from a number of Competitors and ex members of staff.
This has meant that we want to concentrate on servicing our existing customers, ensuring that you receive the best possible service.
If you need to contact us please use the email address info@hosting-support.co.uk and we will respond as soon as possible.
Our new phone number will be up and running over the next few days and we will forward this as soon as we can.
I apologise for our old number going unanswered – however as we shared an office with Network and promotions we no longer had access to our numbers.
I would like to thank you for your patience over the last week and once again reassure you that your Hosting and support package will remain unaffected.
Let me just point out that I have never said that Quantum Hosting had stopped trading, so I don't know who has been. However I'm happy that you guys can now directly contact them again... This completely validates my blog - Quantum are in Liquidation and Quantum Network & Promotions have stopped trading.
What has been happening in Quantum the last 2 weeks…
A few months ago, Quantum Web Solutions liquidated, as posted on this blog, all assets and employees were transferred to 1 of 3 new companies set up in it's wake:
Quantum Network and Promotions
- No assets
- Clients still in dev
- Employees
Twipple
- SEO
Quantum Hosting and Support
- Existing Linesave sites
- Existing Quantum sites
- Existing Tovuti sites
Quantum Network & Promotions has not liquidated (http://companycheck.co.uk/company/07340407 – still says active as of 02/07/2012), however as the above email from Quantum states, they have officially stopped trading.
I have been told the following which I share, but is of a personal opinion of the person who said it:
All staff were told "This is the end of Quantum, but we will keep the hosting going" – but then a few select members of staff were approached and offered a position at a new company called "Tazamo" - http://www.tazamo.co.uk/
Suspicious employees who were not approached, but enquired, were told that there was no new office or anything.
The following is what I know about the new company:
- Same management - Chris Hurst, Paul Walker & Bernie Hurley
- Most, if not all of the same sales team
It would seem that the above is correct, all lines of communication between clients and Quantum have been lost, the only people who are in touch with Quantum are a select few clients who have been contacted by a blocked number and asked for payments for various stages of development. I would make sure you are paying for something you are receiving before you shell out any money.
Dont forget that if you paid using a credit card, you can always reverse the charges and get your money back - that's if they do not deliver what your paying for of course.
My sympathies go out to all the staff who this week are going without a job and now must attempt to find new employment, lets face it, having “worked at Quantum” on your CV is not going to do much… But I also feel sorry for all you clients who now have the headache of chasing after them and making sure your site is future-proof.
Website Offline? Office Phones out?
I'm getting a number of reports that customers websites are going offline for hours at a time and that any attempt to phone Quantum has failed, even more worrying, attempts to email Quantum are also failing and mail is getting bounced!
Anyone who wishes to get in touch with Quantum will have to keep trying the numbers that were on the website - you could even try visiting the offices as I believe a few staff are still working there to sort things out. The email above also contains a new email address which you can apparently contact them on.
The Quantum website went offline completely last night - not sure what is going on there?

Hi, I couldn't believe my eyes when I came across your blog about Quantum Web. Suddenly everything made sense, the unanswered emails and phone calls for weeks on end. I checked with Trading standards and the Companies house and they have confirmed that Quantum are OFFICIALLY in liquidation and even given me the address of the Official receiver (liquidator). My website is complete and still in the holdings page, I have paid for it in full. Hi I have a ecommerce self content online shop website made by Quantum. It has been up and running for just over a year as all seemed ok I had not rushed into getting it all put into my name to change servers as it was all free hosting for the first year.I did recieive a email from them saying to ignore rumours they were going bust and was a little suspicious but stupidly still didn't catch on . now i know they are no longer and my website keeps crashing and i can't get hold of any one. Ihave contacted watch dog, and since i have informed Lisa that i will not be handing over anymore money until the site has been passed to me i have not herd anything else from her.

Hi I have myself been doubting Quantum for a few weeks and now have evidence that they as everyone else here knows are con men. I have just paid out nearly 10k for a site I can not us and has not been completed. It is available for me to access but not live on the web yet. Jess If you paid any by card, go to the card claims dept of your bank, before you pay out more money, via lawyers. Any payments made to quantum before Feb 2012 will be 100% paid back to you under the insurance cover, product not received after payments made! Payments after that are a tiny bit more open to issues. Reason being (as advised by my bank) Quantum traded as he old name of Quantum Web Solutions and received payments under that name until Feb 2012, then they secretly and quietly liquidated that name, without informing customers and proceeded to… Read more »
Its one thing for the company to go bust, but it seems terribly unprofessional for them to:
a) blame it on blogs and ex employees (why would the "new" company blame the other company dying on anything at all, if they are unconnected?)
b) create a "new" company which deny all knowledge of customer problems during the downtime.
This all seems terribly shady.
Its not going to be suprising at all when this "new" company starts to offer programming services really, is it.

I know Quantum have said they will continue to offer hosting and support, but will they shut down the Tovuti system, thereby making my site lost forever? If so, is there anything I can do to save it?

Our website seems to have completely disappeared now. We have no idea how we can get the site back and moved to another host. As a sole trader, and in a very turbulent market we are already struggling and the website is the only real way for us to present our work. You guys are such b****tards. As a firm Quantum completely screwed me over. They pointlessly then tried to take me to court. They lost. The judge threw out the case and warned that such cases are a waste of the courts time. On top of this I get regular requests from your developers and graphic designs to connect with me on linked in and other stuff. You stupid people! You do a crap job. Not on time. Quantum Web Solutions or whatever they call themselves went under a while back. However tmrw the officia ligigator "Sharma and Co" is dealing with a letigation tmrw for Quantum Promotions something I think they are all scum! From what I can see Bernie and Sharma are buddies. Sharma is not helpful AT ALL. Please can you guys call Sharma and demand to know what is going on?? I left Quantum way before it went bust so I'm not here looking for any sympathy or anything - I know Quantum screwed over allot of people, but unfortunately I only came to realize this a few months before I left the place. Have just spoken to the Scum Lisa Salmon. What a slimy fish! Haha I sent her an email and gave her a good earful and how we all would not be going away. And that simply changing your name is not a clever way to hide from the law. I also warned her that being tight and chummy with the litigators is not going to save her either. Can you somehow try to mailshot all concerned parties that tmrw the other version of Quantum is going bankrupt and that its the last chance to perhaps get some funds? Seems the litigation guys are chums of the directors

We desperately want our site moved to another hoster and would appreciate any help you could offer.
We purchased the domain name ourselves, so have control over that, but obviously can not get hold of Quantum regarding the files and database.

Just had an interesting phone call from someone at IRUN asking if i still want my website as Quantum Hosting has asked them to take over hosting as they only have one mobile number now and may go offline any day now. Have you heard anything your self ?

Hi - my site has been branded as having no security certificate! I paid for this back in june - no response from anyone at Quantum......anyone else had the same...have they taken the money and run???

Stay away from Quantum. They say they are concentrating on hosting but my site cannot be found or see. Have had to have the whole thing redone and set up on wordpress for free. You can do this yourself. You do not need companies like QUANTUM.

I agree with you partially, I mean the approach is good, but you will still need support if your site goes down or you need some design or code doing so the site works as you require, or so you can target google??
But well done starting a new site, it's a shame you cannot retrieve your site from Quantum!
