Force Windows Upgrade to Windows 10

Windows 10 has now been released to the public, well it is for a few select people, but many like me did not receive a notification to begin upgrading to windows 10.

Unfortunately Microsoft has no intention of upgrading the whole planet to Windows 10 at once, there are so many machines that require upgrade that Microsoft will be doing the upgrades in waves over the following weeks.

I'm very impatient and I could not wait for Windows 10 to appear in my Windows Update, so instead I took matters into my own hands and found a way to begin the windows 10 upgrade!

If you would like to force your machine to upgrade to windows 10 then simply follow these steps.

1. Open Windows Update

Click "Start" and type "Windows Update" and click on the Windows Update icon:
Windows Update

2. Run Command Prompt

Just as above click "start" and type "cmd", right click the Command Prompt icon and click "Run as administrator":

3. Enter Command (DO NOT RUN IT)

In the Command Prompt window, type the following command (TIP: You can select the text here and Right-click Copy, then on the Command Window Right-click Paste. Do not use the CTRL + V shortcut it does not work):

wuauclt.exe /updatenow

4. Check For Updates...

In the Windows Update Panel Click "Check For Updates"... Now quickly move to step 5.

5. Run Command

Go back to your Command Prompt and run the command you typed in Step 4 - you should now see the following:Windows 10 Upgrade
